How to Register for OFEB Retirement and Estate Planning Seminars

To Register Online
1. Click on the REGISTER button to go to a secure online registration service. There you will register for the Retirement & Estate Planning Seminar event, and then select a session date.
2. To register for someone other than yourself (e.g. if you are the credit card holder only), enter a registrant's name and e-mail address on the opening page. You will be asked to submit your contact information on a later page.
3. You will receive a confirmation by e-mail within a 1-2 days.

The Oregon FEB is encouraging everyone to now register for our seminars online. If you cannot register online, contact the Oregon FEB at ofebtraining@pcez.com or 503.326.3010.

Payment
- Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, federal checks or personal checks are accepted. Checks should be made payable to the Oregon FEB and mailed to:
Oregon Federal Executive Board, 1220 SW 3rd Ave., Suite 1776, Portland, OR 97204.
- Electronic payments (EFT) cannot be accepted.
- If payment by check is not received by two weeks prior to a seminar, the seat will be surrendered.
- Payments by credit card via the online registration service are processed within 2-3 days. Payments by credit card via fax or e-mail are processed about three weeks before the seminar.
Cancellations/Refunds
Please note that there is a firm two week cancellation policy for all paid courses. We cannot provide a refund within 14 calendar days of the initial class date. Someone else can substitute for a registration or the registrant can transfer to another class if an opening is available. If a registrant does not attend a class, transfers cannot take place after the original session has started -- a registrant must re-register and pay again.

NOTE: A $10 transaction fee is also applied to any cancellation requiring the refund of a credit card charge. This is based upon a fee charged to us by our online registration service. Thank you for your understanding.

Changing Your Registration to Another Session
Our new online registration service now allows you to change the date of your registration up to three days before a session takes place. To do so, simply go to the Registration Page and log in. You will be asked for your registration ID. You can then select to change to another session, as long as it is not full.
If a Session is Full
Cancellations do occur, often two weeks or less before a class, so if you still want to try to get into a session that is full you may wait list on the online registration service site. You will be notified by e-mail if a space opens up.

Learning Opportunities from OFEB Partner Organizations

Emergency Preparedness Training

FEMA Emergency Management Institute

National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) Classes in the Pacific NW

NARA offers high quality training on a variety of records management topics, with several of them available free of charge. Below are the sessions that will be offered in Oregon for FY 2008.

For dates, locations and course descriptions of all of their classes in the Northwest, go to the
NARA Pacific Alaska Region website
.

To Register: You can register and view information about NARA training by creating an account on the Learning Management System at nara.learn.com.

Questions?: Please email seattle.workshops@nara.gov or call 206.336.5115.

NARA also provide workshops tailored to the specific records practices and requirements of your office. Tailored training integrates elements of our standard workshops with information relevant to your agency's unique records management concerns and your time constraints. Working with you, they can determine the training needs of your office and customize them to meet your needs. They can explain your office's specific records management policies and resources and adapt materials to apply to your own situation.

Onsite tailored training can be more cost-effective than sending multiple staff to our general workshops. To reinforce the tailored workshops, we can also schedule visits with individual offices after the training to answer questions and address specific issues.

The Graduate School offers career-related and continuing education courses to professionals and federal, state and local employees throughout the country. The School annually enrolls 200,000 students in nearly 1,000 courses, which are available in a variety of subjects and convenient formats:

  • Daytime
  • Evening and weekend classes
  • Correspondence, self-study and online courses
  • Leadership development programs
  • Certificate programs

Established in 1921 by the secretary of agriculture, the Graduate School’s mission is to improve the performance of government and to provide opportunities for individual lifelong learning through education, training and related services. The Graduate School's courses are designed for employees from all departments and levels, not just those from the USDA.

The Graduate School does not grant degrees and has never sought that authority. They prefer to focus on continuing education and training for working adults. Although associated with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Graduate School is self-sustaining and receives no federal funds. Their only source of income is tuition and fees.
